Icicle Fund Leadership Transition Announcement

7/30/2024

For more information, please contact Icicle Fund Board President Mitsu Iwasaki at Mitsu.iwasaki@tpl.org or Icicle Fund Executive Director Christine Morgan at cjmorgan@iciclefund.org.

The Icicle Fund, a dynamic nonprofit and grant-making organization that supports the arts, history, and environment in North Central Washington, is seeking applicants to lead the organization into its next chapter as the Executive Director.

After nine years of inspiring and effective leadership, Executive Director Christine Morgan has decided this is the time for the organization to transition to new leadership. The Icicle Fund Board is incredibly grateful for Morgan's passion, commitment and service. Her caring and steady hand has guided the Icicle Fund as it evolved into the effective funder that it is today. Under Morgan’s leadership the Icicle Fund accepted the gift of ownership of Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort from Harriet Bullitt in 2019, nimbly pivoted to increase support of local non-profits during Covid, transitioned to a trust-based community grant program, and significantly increased engagement with the communities it serves.

“Icicle Fund is a unique local, place-based funder of the arts, environment, and history. It is a rare community treasure, and this region would be a very different place to live and visit without it,” Morgan said. “I feel deep gratitude to Harriet and the NCW community for the opportunity to serve and steward the Fund for a while. The organization is strong and well positioned for future impact. I am looking forward to my next chapter of service elsewhere and to opening the door for the next leader of the Icicle Fund.”

The Icicle Fund Board and Christine see this as an opportunity to strengthen the organization even further, so Christine will be staying on through September to ensure the continued smooth operation.

“We are grateful to Christine’s unwavering dedication to the communities and organizations that make North Central Washington special,” said Mitsu Iwasaki, Icicle Fund Board President. “Under her vision, the Fund has had a profound impact on the arts, history, culture, and the environment throughout our valley and beyond. We look forward to identifying the next director who will help shape the Icicle Fund into its next iteration”.
