Cultural & Natural History

A sense of place is critical to the work of the Icicle Fund. This deep understanding of and respect for traditions and culture develop through appreciation of cultural and natural history.  It is our honor to support  organizations and projects that work toward helping all of us understand our collective past.

By connecting with key partners focused on building and fostering this understanding and appreciation of our past, we have cooperatively accelerated the following initiatives:

·       Creation of museum exhibits

·       Publication of books

·       Development of archive-quality storage space

·       Creation of a float depicting a Native American legend

·       Remodel of an old house to serve as a new interpretive center

·       Development of strategic plans

·       Reopening of a museum that had been closed for two years

·       Support for a regional oral history project

·       Filming of a documentary focused on local luminaries
