Wenatchee Foothills Capital Campaign Surpasses Goal

The collaborative Wenatchee Foothills capital campaign, conducted by two Icicle Fund partner organizations, had a goal of $8.145 million; it has now raised over $8.4 million. Led by the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust and the Trust for Public Land, the campaign grew out of the work of developers, realtors, conservationists and 1600 citizens in creating the Wenatchee Foothills Community Strategy,  which balanced the needs of new growth with recreation, wildlife and community values. Campaign funds are being used to more than double conserved acreage in the Foothills, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the same striking viewscapes and natural areas that we do today. The campaign also included critical funding for the ongoing care and stewardship of the properties protected, as well as trail restoration.
