Funding Priorities

For 20 years, the Icicle Fund has furthered its mission by supporting non-profit organizations that develop North Central Washington as a region where nature, the arts, and an understanding of natural and human history encourage appreciation, care and stewardship of this special place. Our work is not yet done.

A sense of place is central to the Icicle Fund’s mission, as is the belief that connection to the land and the communities we visit and live in are nurtured through artistic expression and imagination, an understanding of our past, and experience in and love for our natural landscapes and wildlife. The three areas in which the Icicle Fund awards grants are Environment, the Arts, and Cultural and Natural History. Integration of two or more of these areas can be very powerful and is encouraged when relevant.

To date, the Icicle Fund has invested more than $40 million in support of more than 100 non-profit organizations in our region. At our core is the individual and collaborative work of six lead organizations:

·       Chelan-Douglas Land Trust

·       Icicle Creek Center for the Arts

·       Methow Arts Alliance

·       The Nature Conservancy

·       The Trust for Public Land

·       Wenatchee River Institute

In addition, the Icicle Fund solicits funding applications from organizations that further the Fund’s organizational mission and focus efforts on the environment, arts, and history in North Central Washington.
