Grants awarded to 9 nonprofits

At its December 12, 2014, the Icicle Fund Board of Directors awarded over $140,000 in grants to nine nonprofits working in North Central Washington. Grant size ranged from $3,000 to $30,000; the average grant size was $11,700. In an exceptionally competitive grant cycle, the following organizations received grants:

  • TwispWorks Foundation for capacity building
  • Upper Valley Connection for the Icicle Players Theater Camp
  • Chumstick Wildfire Stewardship Coalition for its work in the Chumstick and the greater Leavenworth area
  • Trout Unlimited for work on reforming motorized mineral prospecting
  • Wenatchee Art Education Consortium for bringing opera into the schools
  • Conservation Northwest for its program of citizens monitoring wildlife
  • Icicle Arts for embarking on a new strategic plan
  • Methow Valley Citizens' Council for bringing in younger leaders to work on land use issues
  • Community Foundation of North Central Washington for the 2015 Nonprofit Practices Institute

Letters of Inquiry for the June 2015 funding cycle will be accepted until Monday, April 6, 2015
