Awarded Grants

From July 2016 through June 2017 we awarded over $800,000 to twenty nonprofit organizations. These organizations all develop the Wenatchee River Watershed and North Central Washington as a region where nature, the arts, and the area’s natural and human history encourage appreciation, understanding and stewardship of this special place.

This year, we changed our grant program and now provide three different avenues of support: Initiative Grants, Strategic Project Grants, and Founding Organization Grants.

Among the successful grants were a new program to integrate arts, environment, and Native American history and culture in an Okanogan school setting; upgrading of software and hardware to ensure 21st century access to and management of an invaluable museum collection in the Okanogan; and operating support to ensure continued availability of environmental education in an amazing outdoor classroom in Leavenworth.
